IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gloria Clara
Meisner
August 18, 1931 – November 30, 2025
Gloria Clara Meisner passed away on November 30, 2025, at the age of 94 due to natural causes. Gloria said that "it was time" for her to go and to not worry "because dying is part of living". On August 18, 1931, Gloria was born as a first-generation American in Ashland, Wisconsin. Her family resided in Pence, Wisconsin. Her father was Frederick Stieber and her mother was Clara M. (Schreck) of Rossleben, Germany. Gloria had two brothers and one sister; they told stories of strength and perseverance growing up during the Great Depression. That strength and resilience served Gloria and her siblings in good stead throughout their long lives. On May 19, 1956, Gloria was united in marriage to Alfred H. Meisner of Shawano, Wisconsin. Together they shared 51 years of marriage and raised 3 children.
Gloria is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren- Mark Frederick Meisner (Denise), and his daughter Abby Marie (Clinton) Mueller and their children, Cash James, Rayleah Marie, and Tana May; Roxane Clara (Michael) Beinemann and their children Nathaniel Alfred, Dominic Michael, and Cassandra Johanna (Jahner); and Darcy Lynne (Samuel) McBeth. Gloria is further survived by one sister-in-law, Arleen "Min" O'Connor of Milwaukee.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Al, Parents Fritz and Clara, and two brothers Frederick "Fritz" Carl Stieber, Clinton "Clint" Herman Stieber and her sister Frederica "Freddie" Bertha Dolores (Patti).
Gloria found joy in simple pleasures. She loved birds-watching them, collecting bird art, and for a time caring for her cockatiel named Freddie. She enjoyed colorizing old portraits, reading, crossword puzzles, word games, and sewing. She was blessed with life-long treasured friendships, friends who are like family. Gloria was known for her Tom & Jerry's, barbeque, and pineapple upside down cake. At her core, Gloria was anchored by her beloved Northwoods. She was happiest in the pines where her heart found home.
