Grace May McKay, age 96, of Shawano, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, September 06, 2019. Grace was born on February 14, 1923, in Milwaukee, to the late Albert and Sylvia (Jensen) Prichard. On September 13, 1939 Grace was united in marriage to Lawrence "Mac" McKay, Sr. in Milwaukee. Lawrence preceded Grace in death on January 21, 2003 after 63 years of marriage. In her younger years, Grace farmed in the Clintonville and Embarrass areas. She went on to work in the Hansen glove factory and Hortonville toy factory. Grace was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville. Grace and Lawrence liked to spend their winters in Texas and enjoyed their pug dogs. She was a loving wife of 63 years and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Grace is survived by: her children, Don (Judy) McKay of Jacksonville, Florida, John (Pat) McKay of Morro Bay, California, Lawrence "Mac" (Mary) McKay of Lake Carroll, Illinois, and William McKay of Neenah; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lawrence McKay, Sr.; her parents, Albert and Sylvia Prichard; and her siblings, Clarence, Wally, Mildred, and Ruth.

A funeral service will be held for Grace at 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
