Gwen G. (nee McBride) Koeller, age 62 of the Town of Navarino, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in Oconto County as a result of a motorcycle/car accident. Gwen was born on March 5, 1949 in Shawano, daughter of the late Charles and Ramona McBride. She was baptized and confirmed at Shawano Methodist Church and attended Shawano schools, graduating in 1967. Gwen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She met and married Charlie Koeller in 1967. They lived in the area their entire marriage. Gwen worked various jobs throughout her life, stopping several years ago to join Charlie in retirement. Gwen and Charlie were inseparable, having many interests and activities. They enjoyed traveling the country on their cycle, visiting family and friends. They built two homes and worked on cars together. They enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and going to their cottage up north. Gwen is survived by: her husband, Charlie; 2 children, Jami (Mark Welcing) Koeller, Jay (Angela) Koeller; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Weaver, Nicole, Cody and Carson Koeller; 2 brothers, M.J. (Marilyn) McBride, Lon (Julie) McBride; 3 sisters, Kelly (Mike) Meidam, Charla (Tim) Martin, Terre (Ron) Retzlaff; nieces and nephews, Dean (Jolie) McBride, Rory McBride, Leesa (Chad) Jenkins, Paula (Luke) Meidam, Jed (Virginia) Meidam, Ashlee (Kevin) Bradford, Emma and Paul Retzlaff; and in-laws, Helen (Eugene) Mehlberg, Roy (Sharon) Koeller, Mary (Jerry) Durgin; nieces and nephews, Terry Mehlberg, Sandra (Dana) Dejnowski, Brian (Julie) Mehlberg, Greg (Karen) Mehlberg and Danny (Tami) Mehlberg. Gwen was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles and Ramona McBride; a niece Timijane Martin; and her in-laws, Harvey and Mickey Koeller. A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday after 4pm until the time of the service.
