Harold Louis William Beyer, age 92 of the Town of Waukechon, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his home. Born on September 18, 1920 in the Town of Waukechon, he was the son of the late Louis H. and Aurelia (Strauss) Beyer. Harold lived all his life on the home farm. He was a lifelong member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, being confirmed on April 14, 1935. Harold had a strong faith in God and was a true gentleman. On August 6, 1942 he enlisted with the United States Army and served his country for more than three years during World War II. In his later years, Harold took over running the family farm and took great pride in his work. He was also very proud of his good health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In his free time, Harold enjoyed hunting on his land with his nephew, Douglas. Harold will be dearly missed by: his sister, Wilma Beilfuss of Shawano; a sister-in-law, Janet Beyer; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Harold was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Earl and Donald; and a brother-in-law, Harry Beilfuss. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117 at the church following the service. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:30am until the time of the service.
