Obituary

Harold M. Busch, age 86 of Cecil, was welcomed Home to be with his Savior on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Suzanne. For the past several years, Harold had resided at Meadow View Care Facility in Bonduel. Harold was born on August 14, 1925 in the Town of Green Valley to Frank and Hulda (Simon) Busch. He attended Zion Lutheran School in Zachow until the 8th grade when he transferred to St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel, graduating from Bonduel High School in 1943. On August 21, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Inez Sumnicht. Together the couple farmed and raised their children on the home farm near Advance, retiring in 1990. After retirement, Harold became a loving caretaker for Inez. The family discovered that Harold enjoyed doing many things once he no longer had to milk cows, including fishing and gardening. He learned to do many of the household chores and made many tasty meals. He also spent a lot of time making fine woodworking projects for his family. He enjoyed listening to polka music and had a fine voice, which he passed on to his children. He also enjoyed listening to his children play hymns on the piano, especially when they sang along. Harold was a kind, generous, social man who enjoyed having visitors at Meadow View. He supported his church, their mission in Romania and the Wolf River High School because he knew how powerful the Word of God is in our lives. Harold is survived by: his 9 children, Linda (Ronald) Rowell of Oconto Falls, Melvin (Sandy) Busch, Charles Bush and Charlene Busch all of Green Bay, Suzanne (Dean) Thiel and Arlyn (Julie) Busch of Seymour, Lanette (Marvin) Genskow of Suring, Kathleen (Mike) Dorsey of Green Bay, Nancy (William) Dittman of Edgar; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by: 1 sister, Hertha (Roger) Olson; 2 brothers, Gerhard Busch, Martin (Violet) Busch; sister-in-law, Lydia Busch; and a brother-in-law, Stan (Donna) Sumnicht. Harold was preceded in death by: his beloved wife, Inez on July 30, 2006; his parents; 3 sisters, Gladys, Leona and Irene; and 2 brothers, Clarence and Frank. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Meadow View Care Facility for their love and wonderful care over the 3 years Harold enjoyed living there. They would also like to thank Unity Hospice for the kindness, care and compassion given to Harold during the last several months. The family was blessed to have been able to care for Harold at his daughter's home in his final weeks. www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
