Obituary

Harvey C. Dillenburg, 74, passed away unexpectedly at the home he shared with his beloved wife Joyce on Saturday, November 13th, 2021. Harvey was born in Shawano County to Charles and Esther (Kunschke) Dillenburg. Harvey was a loving man and has left a gentle giant-sized hole in the hearts of those who survive him. Harvey was a wonderful husband who was the most kind, gentle and loving man that anyone could ever ask for.

Harvey was a graduate of Shawano High School. Among his many pursuits, Harvey was an extraordinary craftsman working with wood and metal. He made, with love, beautiful rocking chairs for all his grandchildren. His wood crafting projects included a roll top desk, curved glass curio cabinet, tables, a lounge chair from the original Titanic plans, a rocking motorcycle (which won him the 'Best of Show Blue Ribbon' at the Shawano County Fair), which he loved very much. He and Joyce worked tirelessly on their 1884 Victorian Home, which was their labor of love.

He could fix anything, from tractors to wells, and everything in between. He also held a private pilot's license and had taken many trips with friends to hunt and have adventures. He was always willing to help anyone that called or needed to have anything fixed. He was a master at engineering and problem solving. He was always generous in sharing his knowledge with the younger guys and they appreciated his wisdom. He loved all animals, especially Freckles and Diva, and feeding his birds.

Harvey was always a 'love in action' kind of guy. Harvey was so very loved by his children and grandchildren, who called him 'Papa'. Papa will always remain in our hearts, and we know he is in the arms of Jesus and will remain there until we meet again.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Kotschi) Dillenburg, daughters; Lori (Randy) Schmoll, Beth Dillenburg, Kimberly Dillenburg, grandchildren; Brianna, Conner, Riley, great-granddaughter, Lillin. Harvey was a loving Papa to Kate (Brian) Dreger, Mary Wegner, Warren (Tiffany) Wegner, and grandchildren; Mia, Calvin, William, Harrison, Harper Joy, and Ava Grace. Harvey is also survived by his brothers Harry Dillenburg and Harlow Dillenburg, special nephews, Steve (Lori) Dillenburg and Jason Dillenburg, and great friend/best buddy Stan Vertz and his partner Beverly Hacker.
