Hattie Grosskopf, age 100, passed away May 25, 2023. She was born January 13, 1923 to August and Louise (Breutzman) Keup. On October 6, 1945, Hattie married Robert "Bob" Grosskopf. Hattie wore many hats (although she hated actual hats): she grew up on a farm in Pella during the Great Depression and was able to drive a team of horses, and went on to work in the inspection department of Woodward Governor in Rochester, Illinois during World War II. She then returned, married Bob and lived in the Village of Pella where she remained all her married life. Hattie and Bob had their construction business, Grosskopf Construction, where she served as both secretary and lumber truck driver. Hattie was strong in her faith, an excellent seamstress, an avid reader and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

Hattie is survived by a daughter, Linda (Rev Herbert) Kitzman, granddaughter, Joanne (Rob) Buss, and grandson, Neil Kitzman, who knew her as "Grandma Breezeway". Hattie has eight great grandchildren, Emily (Brad), Dylan (Nicki), Miranda (Luke), Daniel, Max, Katie, Brooklyn and Jake and four great great grandchildren, Aaron, Annelise, Kinsley and Leona. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and a brother.

A funeral service for Hattie will be held at 11:00 am on Friday June 2, 2023, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, with Reverend Andrew Zobel officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery-Pella Opening.  Memorials can be given to St. James Lutheran School.
