Obituary
Helen M. Carnes, age 92, of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Pine Manor.
Helen was born in Clintonville on February 22, 1924, the daughter of the late William F. and Agnes (Sorensen) Zastrow.
In 1963, Helen was united in marriage to Robert M. Carnes in Madison.
He preceded her in death in 1995. She taught at Madison West High School in the late 1950's – 1960's under the name Helen Jayne and was a Christian Science Practitioner for 46 years.
Helen was an excellent archer and enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, and knitting.
Helen is survived by: one daughter, Christine Carnes of Clintonville; step-daughter, Catherine (Steven) Mackenroth of CA; step-son, John (Ann Mason) Carnes of OH; two grandsons; and one sister-in-law, Jean Zastrow of MI.
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, Robert; one step-son, Robert "Robin" Carnes, Jr; as well as two brothers, John and Kenneth Zastrow.
To respect Helen's wishes, no services will be held.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to ThedaCare Emergency Room and 2
nd
floor staff for the excellent care given to Helen, and Pine Manor Healthcare Facility for the wonderful care and compassion given to Helen.
