Helen Marie Schroeder, age 86, of Shawano died on Saturday, December 5, 2015.  She was born on September 14, 1929 in Oshkosh to the late Albert M. and Irene (Kranzusch) Postl.  Helen was united in marriage to Doug Schroeder on October 14, 1948 in Oshkosh.  Doug preceded her in death on June 27, 2009.  She owned and operated a shoe store, called Footport later renamed Shoe Park, along with her good friend Ramona McBride.  She was a "real go-getter" and loved to travel, including trips to Europe and numerous cruises.  In her younger years, she enjoyed embroidering, knitting, crocheting, and painting.  She also loved cheering on the Packers and Badgers.

Helen is survived by her brothers, James Postl of Michigan, and Richard (Seiko) Postl of Shawano; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Fran) Schroeder of Colorado, as well as several very special nieces and nephews and many great, and great, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Doug; her parents; a sister-in-law, Emily Postl as well as her beloved cat, Buddy.

A private family service will be held.  Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
