Irene Wohler, age 90, of Deforest, WI, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 in Deforest.  Irene was born in Waupaca County on July 3, 1930, daughter of the late Herman and Ella (Wudstrack) Grosskopf.  On October 14, 1961 Irene married Ewald Wohler in Tilleda.  Ewald preceded her in death on August 3, 2013.  Irene loved gardening, sewing, birds, and quilting with the ladies of Peace Lutheran Church.  She was a wonderful, strong person who never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  She was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda.  In her later years she lived in Deforest, WI with her children and loved spending time with her cat that came from the farm with her, Shadow.

Irene is survived by: her children, Emily (Greg) Norman of Madison, Paul (Kim) Wohler of Deforest, and Linda Wohler of Madison; five grandchildren; and a sister Marcella (Martin) Hille of Tigerton.

She is preceded in death by; her husband, Ewald; two sons, Michael and Reinhold; her parents; and two sisters, Donna Kerstner and Germaine Wilhelm.

Private family services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 10:00 am.  Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Tilleda. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic wearing masks and social distancing are requested.
