Isabell A. Stuber, age 87 of Shawano, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at her home. Born on May 6, 1924 in Alma, she was the oldest of six children born to Alfred and Alice (Feeney) Zittel. Isabell graduated from Alma High School in 1942 and completed her teaching degree at Buffalo County Normal and the University of WI Eau Claire. She began teaching at Bohris Valley Country School in Buffalo County and in 1955 moved to Shawano to teach at Beversdorf and Texas Schools until their closures. She taught at Keshena Elementary and finally at Lincoln School in Shawano until her retirement in 1986. In life she enjoyed her family and activities associated with teaching at rural country schools. Isabell is survived by: her sons, Ron (Judy) Stuber and Gene Stuber of Shawano; a daughter, Kathy (Eddie) Crosby of Clewiston, FL; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Isabell is further survived by 2 brothers, Al (Marvilla) Zittel of Alma and Tony (Marjorie) Zittel of Winona, MN. Isabell was preceded in death by: her parents; a brother, David (Shirley) Zittel; and 2 sisters, Marjorie (Kenneth) Clementson and Irma Jean (Clifford) Larson. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday after 1:00pm until the time of the service.
