Obituary

Jack Henry Albers, age 90, of Keshena, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 in Shawano. Jack was born on April 8, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry and Mildred (Vohs) Albers.   He graduated from Chase Grammar and Lane Tech High School.  After graduation, Jack served in the United States Army from September 1945 until January 1947.  On June 26, 1948, Jack was united in marriage to Lenore Marie Lenzer in Chicago, IL.  The couple lived in Elmwood Park, IL moved to Des Plaines, IL where they lived for 40 years.  While living in Des Plaines, Jack also owned and operated JHA Engineering.  After retirement in 1996, they moved to Legend Lake in Keshena.  Jack was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Charter Member for Council 12185 – Kateri Tekawitha and Grand Knight.  He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America for 25 years, in which he was a part of the awards committee, Scouter's Key and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.  During this time, he guided 18 scouts to Eagle, two of which where his own sons.  Jack was also a Menominee Mentor and volunteered for the Red River Riders.

Jack is survived by: his five children, Michael Albers, Marianne McKoveck, Nancianne Jensen, Suzanne Priore, and James Albers; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lenore; his parents and one sister Vivian Regnier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with Rev. Joel Jores officiating.   Military Honors will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Visitation will be held at St. Michael's Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 9:30 am until the time of the service.   Inurnment and memorial service will be held in the summer at St. Michael's Cemetery.
