James Michael "BoDean" Ambler, age 74, of Shawano passed away on Sunday January 18, 2026, in Appleton. James was born on April 3, 1951, in Keshena to the late Earl and Lucille (Kenote) Ambler. He graduated high school, attended college for radio broadcasting and was a DJ in Wausau for many years. James lived in California for 16 years and worked as an EMT and became an avid 49er fan. He came back to the Shawano area and drove bus for the Menominee Transit until retirement. James was a baptized member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena. On December 31, 1991, he was united in marriage to Joan Harrington in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. James enjoyed riding his Harley and was a lifetime member of ABATE of WI and Crusaders MC. He had a great sense of humor and loved listening to music.
James is survived by his wife, Joan; brothers, Guy, Dennis and Tom; and sisters, Barbara, Earlene, Joyce Ann and Karen. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
James is preceded in death by his siblings, Dan, Mae, Evelyn and Patsy; godson, Lucas; and parents, Earl and Lucille.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 223 W. Jackson Blvd., Suite 350 Chicago, IL 60606 or your local animal rescue in James' name.
