Obituary

James "Koko" "Blue Sky" Menore, age 60, passed away on Monday April 29, 2024, at his home in Keshena. Koko was born on July 10, 1963, in Shawano to the late Alexander "Menot" and Corrine "Toots" (Gauthier) Menore, Sr.  He worked at the Menominee and Ho-Chunk Casinos as a blackjack dealer for many years. Koko was an avid Packers, Brewers and Bucks fan. In his free time, he enjoyed attending powwows and playing bingo. Koko found peace in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was a talented artist and enjoyed doing Native American craftwork. Koko was a funny, caring, loving and all-around happy guy. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Koko is survived by his children, Everett Menore and Brynlee Menore; grandson, Amaris;  siblings, Ivan (Mona) Menore, Alex (Mary) Menore, Jr., Anna Menore, Anthony (Christine Viljevac) Menore, Corina (Kenny) Klingbeil, Lynette (Robin) Butler, LuAnn (Menore) and Melissa Menore; longtime girlfriend, Claire Maisells; and goddaughter, J'Shon Brath. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.

Traditional services for Koko will be held at the St. Michael Parish Hall in Keshena starting on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at 1:00 pm and continuing until Friday May 3, 2024, at 2:00  pm.
