James A. Dahl, Sr., age 80, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, Novmeber 29, 2019 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Shawano. James was born on July 31, 1939, in Milwaukee, to the late Arthur and Eleanor (Meyer) Dahl. James was a wonderful cook and baker. He spent 60 years of his life sharing his passion with others, from little café's to high end restaurants, he was a hard worker who was not afraid to get his hands dirty. James especially enjoyed cooking for his family. He loved to go out, play pool and darts, and just enjoy life.

James is survived by: his significant other, Janet Dahl; his children, Cynthia (Robert) Ciepluch of Peshtigo, James Dahl, Jr. of LaCrosse, and Steven (Jodi) Dahl of Shawano; his ten grandchildren with one more on the way, Kinsley; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Terry and Ronald Dahl; he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brothers, two older brothers and one sister.

A memorial mass for James will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
