James E. Fischer, age 80 of Gresham, passed away Friday, September 07, 2012 in Shawano. Born on January 1, 1932 in Gresham, he was the son of the late James and Bessie (Richards) Fischer, Sr. In 1950 James enlisted with the United States Air Force and served his country for four years during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge from service, James worked as a logger. He also owned and operated Fischer's Bar in Gresham for eleven years. James was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. James is survived by: his 3 children, Patti (Mike) Stoehr of Green Bay, Brian (Jill Westberg) Fischer of Gresham, Kenneth (Jackie) Fischer of Gresham; 10 grandchildren, Leah (Greg) Parks of FL, Sarah (Mike Nowaczyk) Stoehr of Green Bay, Anna Stoehr of Green Bay, Ian Stoehr of Green Bay, Jeremiah (Rachel Pecore) Fischer of Gresham, Justine Marsh of Shawano, Andrew Marheine of Gresham, Kiersten Fischer of Gresham, Kieana Fischer of Gresham K.J. Fischer of Gresham; 5 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Molly, Kalen, Bradon, Gavin; a sister, Darlene Prey of Shawano; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Jerome Fischer; a sister, Jeanette Tetting; and his former wife, Elizabeth (nee Munson) Fischer. A Military Service will be held at 6:30p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham.
