James Russell "Jim" Rush, Sr., 77, passed away on Wednesday January 22, 2025, surrounded by his family at home in Shawano. Jim was born on September 18, 1947, in Gillett to the late Russell and Mildred (Rubino) Rush. He played football at Gillett High School. On April 8, 1967, Jim was united in marriage to LaVonna Huntington in Gillett. They spent a wonderful 50 years together, before LaVonna's passing in 2017. He drove fuel delivery truck for over 40 years and after retirement was a bus driver. Jim was a Deputy Coroner for Menominee and Shawano County. In his  free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball. He loved to travel and spoil his grandchildren whenever he got the chance. Jim was an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend; he will be deeply missed especially at the cousin's breakfast.

Jim is survived by his children, Tina (Scott) Martin, Curt (Tina) Rush, Deanna (Pat) Roberts, James Rush, Jr., and Stephanie (Mike) Bendtschneider; grandchildren, Whitney (Angel) Ortiz, Braeden (Kristen) Rush, Kortney (Frankie) Oviedo, Mariah (Travis) Fairchild, Payten (Joe) Marohl, Caprice Rush, Ava (Bailey) Bendtschneider and Owen Rush; great-granchildren, Kennedy, Wesley, Kingston, Michael, Kamila, Kahliana, Brynlynn, Lucas, Dalton, Katalina, Timothy, Paisley and Kaenoah; brother, Donald Rush; sister-in-law, Bonnie Buss; and brother-in-law, Garry (Sheila) Huntington, also companion, Elaine Rhode. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his grandson, Ethan; sister, Debra (Kenneth) Pogrant; sister-in-law, Edith; brothers-in-law, Arnold and Mike; parents, Russel and Mildred; and in-laws, Louis and Dorothy Stickney.

A funeral service for Jim will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday January 26, 2025, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Kevin Rudie officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday January 25, 2025, from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm then again on Sunday from noon until the time of service.
