Obituary

James Farrell Smith, age 69, of Keshena, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. James was born in Keshena, on April 29, 1949, son of the late Joseph Sr. and Stella (Caldwell) Smith.  James was united in marriage to Roberta Peters.  He worked at the Menominee Tribal Enterprises as a logger and at the Menominee Casino, where he worked for many years until he retired.  He loved and was very passionate about hunting, fishing and shanging.  He was very proud to be a great-grandfather.

Jim is survived by: his wife, Roberta; children Jamie, Laurie, Dean, Greg, Lea, Robin, Courtney and Kristen; grandchildren, Louis, Richard, Justin, Ashley, Brayden, Lori, Diandra, Dean, Malinda, Sage, Ashauntee, Allen, Ayanna, Caleb, Naraeha, Junior, Temaeha, Drelynn, Alek and Larissa; five great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Joseph Jr. "Puffer", Stephen, Gerald T, Mary "Tweet" and Mary "Grub"; special nephews, Pete Smith and John Dess; special lifelong friends, Les Thorsen and Dusty Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Warren, Bernard, Gregory and John.

Funeral services for Jim will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Rev. Nonito Jesus Barra officiating. Visitation will be held at the Father David Barrett Hall in Keshena from Monday, July 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm until 10:00 am, Wednesday when the procession leaves for the church. A wake service will be held on Tuesday evening.
