Wesener
February 4, 1933 – March 8, 2021
James Arthur Wesener, age 88 of the town of Herman, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Jim was born on February 4, 1933, in the town of Fairbanks, to the late Arthur and Elsie (Kriegel) Wesener. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Split Rock, where later he was President of the Walther League and Treasurer of the church. He graduated from Tigerton High School in 1950. He farmed with his father, worked in the cheese factory, hauled milk, worked in the elevator in Tigerton, Wagner Electric in Tigerton, and with the threshing machine crew. On June 26, 1954, Jim was united in marriage to Gladys Hoernke in Gresham. The couple lived in Split Rock for four years and then moved to Gresham to run Gladys' family farm. They joined Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham where Jim was elected President for two terms and Elder for two terms. He was elected as the Gresham Co-op President for 9 years where during that time the Shawano/Gresham Co-op was established. Gladys preceded Jim in death in 1982. On July 28, 1984, Jim was united in marriage to Rose Marie (Hegewald) Jensen. Jim will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Rose Marie; children, Judith (Kirk) Kangas, of Westfield, Jerome (Carmen) Wesener of Manawa, Gordon (Gerry) Wesener of Shawano, and Jill (Jennifer) Wesener Dieck of Onalaska; step children, Gilbert (Cindra) Jensen, Steven (Gail) Jensen, and Michael (Kari Jo) Jensen; son-in-law, Larry Stoffel of Wittenberg; grandchildren, Pamela (Josh), Bryan (Ashley), Kassia, Jesse (Danielle), Korey (Ceara), Darryl (Anji), Eileen (Greg), Billy, Joseph, Jayla, Jaxon, Lisa (Bill), Michelle (Levi), Jeffrey (Courtney), Jason (Tracy), Eric (Allie), Megan, and Andy (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Kallyn, Parker, Jack, Marlee, Nolan, Emma, Connor, Jackson, Brennan, Terry, Emmalyn, Jackson, and Abraham. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his daughter, Glenda; his parents; and a sister, Betty Brown.
A funeral service for Jim will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gresham with Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service.
