Jamie L. Askenette, age 43 of Little Suamico, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 in Green Bay. Born on March 14, 1970 in Keshena, he is the son of the late Leonard Leaman and Joyce Askenette. Jamie is a 1988 graduate of the Menominee Indian High School. He spent most of his life in Neopit, but resided in Little Suamico for the past 2 ½ years. Jamie enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends, fishing with his dog Toby, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Jamie is survived by: his daughter, Lauren Askenette; siblings, Gerald (Arlene) Wayka, Sr., Barbara (Brian) Tepiew, Marvin (Elsie) Askenette, Kenneth (Nanine Waupoose) Askenette, Pierre Askenette; significant other, Kristine Agamaite and her children, Anna and Josiah. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including best friends, Nathan Wynos and Pat Wayka. He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Brenda, Glenda and Karen Askenette. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
