Obituary
Jan Rabas, age 62, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. Born on February 19, 1955 in Green Bay, she was the daughter of the late George and Muriel (McDougal) Steffens. On October 21, 1993, Jan was united in marriage to Douglas Rabas in Green Bay. Jan was a past president and member of the Shawano Lake Lioness, volunteered with the Special Olympics and owned a trucking company with her husband. For the past 15 years, she worked as a para professional in the Shawano and Bonduel School Districts and loved working with the kids at the schools. Jan loved Shawano Lake, but more than anything loved spending time with her family.
Jan is survived by: her husband, Doug; daughter, Francesca "Frankie" Rabas; two brothers and a sister, Sherman Steffens of Eagle River, Sam (Sandy) Steffens of Green Bay and Jill (Bill) Smith of Alvin, WI. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Susie Steffens.
To respect Jan's wishes, no public service will be held. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
