Jane Marie Stiede, 86, formerly of Pulaski, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026.
Jane was born on February 11, 1940. She graduated from Pulaski High School as a proud member of the Class of 1958. She later married Robert Stiede, and together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and cheese making.
Jane and Robert were proud owners of the family business, Laney Cheese Factory, which they operated for more than 30 years. Jane especially loved running the Laney Cheese Store, where she warmly greeted customers and friends alike. She cherished the conversations and connections she made each day and enjoyed socializing just as much—if not more—than selling the cheese. Her welcoming smile and friendly personality made the store a special place, so much so, she became known as “Janey from Laney”.
Above all else, Jane was devoted to her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana”. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many activities, including basketball, color guard, band, football, swimming and wrestling.
Nana treasured time spent at her cottage on Shawano Lake, especially relaxing in her “She Shed”. In her later years, she greatly cherished the friendships she shared with her card-playing groups.
She is survived by her children, Todd (Cheryl) Stiede and Brad (Lani) Stiede; her grandchildren: Melissa (Keith) Hockers, Jordan Stiede (special friend Elizabeth De Leon), Erin (Cullen) Baker, Paige Stiede (special friend Val Loudenot), Steven Stiede, and Trevor (Sarah) Stiede; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Hockers and Walter Baker.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Joann (Richard) Jarock; their children, Joel (Jen) Jarock; their children Luke and Allie, Jill (Dave) Hilbert; their children Kaitlyn and Nate; as well as her nieces, Jody (Mike) Lawrenz, Holli (Dan) Patza and their children Cole (Bridgette) Patza and Clay.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stiede, after 48 years of marriage; her brother, Dickie; her parents, Wally and Marcella Schreiber; Robert’s parents, Maynard and Edmere Stiede, and stepfather-in-law, James Blom.
Nana will be remembered for her warm heart, welcoming spirit, and the genuine joy she found in connecting with others. Her legacy of kindness, devotion to family, and treasured friendships will live on through all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 County Road U, Green Bay, until the time of service. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Stuart Dornfeld officiating. Burial will take place at Appleton Highland Memorial Cemetery, at a later date.
