Janet Mae Beyer, age 79 of Shawano, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020. Janet was born on July 17, 1941 in Shawano, to the late Arnold and Marcella (Hagel) Otto. On February 27, 1960, Janet was united in marriage to Donald Beyer at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Donald preceded her in death on December 6, 2000. Janet knew everyone. She drove school bus for over 30 years, was a 4-H leader for many years and served on numerous boards and committees including serving as the treasurer for the Town of Waukechon for over 20 years. Janet loved to dance to polka music. She enjoyed arts and crafts and had a talent for cross-stitching and sewing.

Janet is survived by her children, Wanda Copsey, Jayne Schaewe, Jeffrey Beyer, Douglas (Stacey) Beyer, Sr.,  and Brenda Lee (Denise Dodge) Beyer all of Shawano; grandchildren, Jonathon (Sarah) Copsey, Roxanne (Darren) Ledbetter, Jeremy (fiancée, Brianne DeWolf) Schaewe, Douglas (Angela) Beyer, Jr., Jared (fiancée, Sara Esch) Beyer, Hunter Hoffman, and Shelby Hoffman; great grandchildren Brayden and Brooke Schaewe Abigail Beyer, and Kenna Ledbetter; brothers, Danny (Lisa) Otto and Lee Otto both of Shawano; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and son-in-law, David Schaewe.

A funeral service will be held for Janet at 11:00 am on Monday, August 10, 2020, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with Rev. Steven Schauder officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of services. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are strongly recommended.
