Janet Ruth Garside, age 71, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015 in Appleton. Janet was born November 27, 1943 in Lancaster, WI to the late Eugene and Lenice (Stippich) Lomas. She graduated from Fennimore High School in 1961. On March 2, 1963 Janet was united in marriage to Lawrence Garside in Fennimore, WI. They spent 52 wonderful married years together, living in Janesville for 35 of those years. The couple retired in 2000, and moved to Shawano. Janet enjoyed bowling, traveling, fishing, and watching the Loons on Shawano Lake. She was also a Badgers and Packers fan. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Janet is survived by: her husband, Larry; their two sons, Terry Garside of Cudahy and Gary Garside of Bonduel; five grandchildren, Adam, Zachary, Isaac, Alexander, and Sarah Garside and one sister, Mary Ann (Jack) Bukoski of Byron, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Irene Sweeney. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
