Janet J. McHugh, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Shawano. Janet was born to the late Frederick and Arbutus (Kroenke) Grosskopf on October 19, 1960, in Shawano. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1979. Janet graduated from UW Riverfalls receiving a degree in Animal Science. On March 1, 1987, she was united in marriage to Clayton McHugh at St. James Lutheran Church. Janet worked at Performance Food Group "Reinhart" for 28 years. She loved raising Labrador puppies and finding good homes for them. In her free time Janet loved horseback riding, camping with the horses, training Arabians after college. Her favorite part-time job was working at Dr. Fischer's animal clinic were her passion for animals continued. She lived in Shawano all her life.

Janet is survived by her husband, Clayton; her siblings, Linda (David) Helfrink and Larry (Bonnie) Grosskopf. She is further survived by nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday February 12, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano, with Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Visitation will be held at Noon until the time of service at Swedberg Funeral Home.

In the lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established, to Wiscosin Lions Camp and Shriners Hospital.
