Janice E. Jones, age 81 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at a local nursing home surrounded by her family. Born on May 11, 1932 in Shawano, she was the daughter of the late George and Marie (Giesel) Schwietzer. On July 14, 1951 she was united in marriage to Howard Jones at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple made their home and raised their family in the Shawano area where Janice worked for Ben's Dry Cleaning. She also worked for the Shawano School District. When not at work, Janice enjoyed going for walks, reading and watching golf, baseball and other programs on television. She also enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and camping up north but her true enjoyment in life came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Janice was an active member of the River Valley Church in Shawano formerly known as the Shawano Assembly of God Church. Janice is survived by: her daughter, Gail (Dale) Sauer; 2 sons, Jeff (Vicky) Jones, Joe (Ronda) Jones; 9 grandchildren, Lisa Sauer, Amy Sauer, Cody Sauer, Jesse Jones, Corey (special friend, Kyla Hischke) Jones, Katie Jo Jones, Dylan Jones, Cassie (Dean) Cummings, Callie Galland; 7 great-grandchildren, Devann, Ryan, Reese, Sadie, Carson, Cierra, Chloeana; and a great great-grandchild, Baily Rae. Janice is further survived by: several sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Janice was preceded in death by: her husband, Howard on December 14, 2002; her parents; and 8 siblings. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Lake Drive Cemetery in the Town of Wescott with Rev. Dan Taylor officiating.
