Janice "Jan" Maureen (Mickelson) Wallin, born August 23rd 1932, in Iron Mountain Michigan, to John & Helen (Thorin) Mickelson; died at the Shawano Medical Center on May 5th 2015. Jan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a degree in art. She was married twice, with three sons and two stepdaughters. Jan was an accomplished artist, worked for the Shawano School District, Mason's Flowers, as a realtor, for the Marshfield Clinic and as a loving mother and wife. She had many hobbies that included gardening, flowers, fishing, and design work. She loved playing cards, especially bridge, with her many friends. Mom had a very strong faith and was a member at Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano Wisconsin, for more than 40 years. Jan is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey (Judy) Schmitt, Albuquerque, NM, Jon (Julie) Schmitt of Birnamwood, WI, Lars (Jessica) Schmitt of San Francisco, CA; one stepdaughter, Christine Wallin of Walla Walla, WA; grandchildren, Scott Landweher, Matt Landweher, Ian Schmitt, Hannah Kuehnl, Katarina Baron-Schmitt; her brother, John (Mary) Mickelson of Milwaukee, WI; as well as nieces and nephew, Nancy Schmitt-Garland, Suzann Kahn, Ellen Hiday, Mark Mickelson and Sue Toth. She is proceeded in death by her parents, John and Helen; her two husbands, Milton J. Schmitt and Kenneth E. Wallin; and one stepdaughter, Loni Wallin. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1254 S. Union Street, Shawano, Wisconsin 54166 with a meal to follow in Fellowship Hall.
