Obituary

Jay "Buckin" Pecore, age 53, of Keshena, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024.  Jay was born in Keshena, Wisconsin on January 12, 1971, son of the late Wayne "Bunker" and Glenda (Corn) Pecore. Jay graduated from Menominee Indian High School in 1989. He was united in marriage to Tamami (Nuguchi) Pecore July 9, 1997, at Keshena Falls by Judge Louie Hawpetoss. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Jay was a career aviation tech for the US Navy where he traveled all around the world, retiring after 20 years of service. He then went to work in the aviation division for Boeing in California under government contracts. Jay enjoyed fishing, golfing, RC dirt racing, and going to his lake lot with family.

Jay is survived by the mother of his children, Tamami; loving partner, Rebecca (Waupoose) McCann; 2 sons, Kenny and Sean; sister-in-law, Mary Beth (Waupoose) Pecore; siblings, Cheryl (Chris) Fish, Todd (Twila) Pecore, Brett Pecore, Mary Beth "Muck" Pecore, and Tina (Bill) Larsen; Godchildren, Bridget, April, and Keleb; special aunts, Pamela Grignon, Ann King, and Barb King and her children, Bobbi Jo (Jr.), Jacy (Jeff), and Slade (Jourdan); and special friends, Anthony "Tony" Waupochick, Daniel Blackowl, Chris "Midge" Cook, Max, and Louis. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Glenda; his siblings, Wayne "Petey" Pecore, Jr., Linda Warrington, and Lisa (Mike Flea) Peters; and niece and nephews, Tricia Pecore, Mike House Jr., Jason Caldwell, and Anthony Wilber.

A Funeral Mass for Jay will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena at 11:00am on Friday November 8, 2024, with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. A rosary service will be held on Thursday, November 7, at 6:00 pm at the Fr. Dave Barrett Hall. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Menominee Nation. Visitation will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Parish Hall on Wednesday November 6, 2024, starting at 3:0 pm until the time of service on Friday.
