Obituary

Jean LaVonne Weldon, age 84 of the Town of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on April 27, 1928 in Plainfield, she was the daughter of the late Royden and Ruth (Vroman) Gustin. On November 30, 1946 she was united in marriage to John "Jack" Weldon in Plainfield. The couple made their home in the Shawano area where Jean enjoyed being a homemaker and also worked as a sales person for more than 20 years. Jean was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. She adored small children and loved babies. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and fishing. Jean is survived by: her beloved husband of 65 years, Jack; her daughter, JackLynn Comstock of San Diego, CA; 2 sons, John (Sylvia) Weldon, Jr. of Manitowoc, Gary Weldon of Mosinee; 7 grandchildren, Kim Hoffman, Kirk Hoffman, Thad Weldon, Rachael Weldon, Serenea Seliger, Luke Weldon, Annie Weldon; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Raymond Gustin of MN and Emmett Gustin of Plainfield. Jean was preceded in death by: her daughter, Sally Jo; her parents; a sister, Joanne; and 2 brothers, Keith and Boyd. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Gisele Berninghaus officiating. Inurnment will be in the East Oasis Cemetery in Waushara County. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10am until the time of the service.
