Jeanette Weidner, age 90, of Bonduel, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in Bonduel.
Jeanette was born on January 5, 1927 in the Town of Newport, WI to the late Oscar B. and Jane T. (Knuteson) Nelson. On September 16, 1950, Jeanette was united in marriage to Arthur R. Weidner in Portage. Arthur preceded her in death on January 12, 2012. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church-Golden Lake for 61 years, a member of the St. Johns altar guild and the LWML. She was a 4H leader for 30 years. Jeanette loved animals and was a skilled horseback rider. She could work a team of horses and was also a competitive horseback rider in her youth. Jeanette loved the community and her family farm in Sullivan and considered it to be "the crossroads of the world". She loved nature, was a great hunter, and avid bird watcher and enjoyed fishing. She was a good woodworker and often built things for the farm. Jeanette enjoyed making maple syrup and teaching the local children how to make it.
Jeanette is survived by: two sons, Daniel (Kathleen) Weidner of Bonduel and Vincent (Sandra) Weidner of Waukesha; granddaughters, Jane Weidner of Sheboygan, Susan Weidner of Windermere FL, Maribeth Weidner of Bonduel, Julie Weidner of Sweden and Amy (Jon) Wolford of Duluth MN; one great grandson, Brody; three sisters-in-law, Carol Nelson, Margaret Nelson and Pat Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; one son, David P. Weidner; and her sisters and brothers, Ethel Everson, Lawrence Nelson, Helen Lee, Henry Nelson, Vernon Nelson and Lillian Catterson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church – Golden Lake in Sullivan, WI with Pastor Dean Zemple officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be at church from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 and again Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Swedberg Funeral Home of Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
