Obituary
Jean Evelyn Jarvais, age 71, of Lakewood, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at her home. Jean was born in Stafford Springs, CT on October 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Leo and Ellen (Wright) Michaud. When she was 17, she moved to Townsend. On October 31, 1964 in Crandon, WI, she was united in marriage to Eugene Jarvais. Eugene preceded her in death on September 28, 2015. Jean was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and attending trips through the church. She enjoyed trips to the library and reading. More than anything, Jean loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by: her children, Kim Palka of Mountain, Kris (Fred) Mason of Lakewood and Joe (Sunshine) Jarvais of Carter; daughter-in-law, Diana Jarvais of Laona; grandchildren, Ryann, Shane and Jake Mason, Mark, Jr. and Emily Palka and Chloe and Jennifer Jarvais; her sister, Barbara Kurth of MN; her brother, Alex (Joan) Michaud of AZ. She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Eugene; her son, John Jarvais; son-in-law, Mark Palka, Sr.; and a grandson, Anthony.
Funeral services for Jean will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lakewood with Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Wabeno. Visitation will be held St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Unity Hospice staff who helped take care of Jean and to Mark, Jr. for being her gopher and taking care of her when we couldn't.
