Jeffrey Alan Flaig, age 71, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, peacefully after putting up a good fight to stay with his family. Jeff was born on December 15, 1954, in Shawano to the late Edward and Delores (Utke) Flaig.

For most of his life, he worked in the wood manufacturing industry. Jeff’s dad gave him the nickname “Skinny-Bird”. In his younger years, he was involved with Shawano Speedway and made memories building cars and motors with his brother, Jay. On June 14, 1986, he was united in marriage to Brenda Baeten in Appleton. In his free time, Jeff enjoyed listening to classic rock, collecting diecast cars, building model cars, and watching NASCAR, the Green Bay Packers, and the Brewers. His woodworking craftsmanship became a treasured hobby. Jeff was a good listener and was always there for his sons and wife. Jeff enjoyed being outside, taking care of his yard, going for walks, and grilling out when the weather was nice. In his younger years, he liked to hunt with both bow and gun. Jeff was a good man, a great provider, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be deeply missed.

Jeff is survived by his wifey-poo of 40 years, Brenda; sons, Jason (partner, Kristin Kovarik) Flaig, and Jamie Flaig; granddaughter, Winter Dahlia Flaig; siblings, James (Lois) Flaig, Jay (Nancy) Flaig, Jon (Loanne) Flaig, Jerry (Becky) Flaig, and Judy (David) Reed; and special friend, Debbie Parson. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Joan Reed; parents, Edward and Delores Flaig; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Ella Mae Baeten.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano WI. Dick Menning will be officiating the service.
