IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jennifer Marie
Wild
February 7, 1971 – June 24, 2023
Jennifer Marie Johnson Wild, 52, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Through surgeries and cancer treatments over the last several years, Jen maintained a positive attitude. As 2 Corinthians 1 describes, she went through hardships, and she comforted others because of the hope and strength she found through those experiences. We're grateful for the way God worked through her life in this way. Jen was a powerful source of strength for everyone she loved. Family and friends gathered to help her through the journey, without compromising her self-reliant nature.
Born in 1971, to Bob and Chris (Martin) Johnson, Jen spent her early years in Shawano. She attended St. James Lutheran School and graduated from Shawano High School. Jen's senior year the volleyball team won the state championship, a sport in which she excelled. Her first year of college was spent at Ripon College via a volleyball scholarship. Jen transferred to St. Norbert College where she earned her accounting degree and subsequent CPA designation. She was an avid Packer fan, skilled paddler, and loved being on the Wolf River. She was masterful at making and sharing homemade lollipops, sea foam candy, and Great-Aunt Gertie's Pfeffernüsse. Jen learned French and Spanish and even traveled abroad. She also loved to travel throughout the US and learned to ski in Utah. Back at home, she served as the business administrator for the White Lake School District for many years and made countless friends in the White Lake area. Her home church and faith were very important to her. She also worked for a local accounting firm and then started her own business in White Lake preparing taxes - a profession which highlighted her impeccable attention to detail. She was conscientious in her work, and resolute in her principles.
Jen was immensely proud of her two children. Her son, Summit, and daughter, Ellamae, inherited some of Jen's most admirable traits, her independence and compassion. She treasured her time watching them at multiple sporting events and loved cheering them on to success. Jen's uncompromising, yet loving and caring personality will be missed by all.
Jennifer is survived by her parents; children; sister and best friend, Amy Sue (Tom) Drews; goddaughter, Caitlin Drews; brother Mike (Laurie) and their children Emilee and Erik; brother Tom (Jess) and their children Trever, Benjamin, Jacob, and Abby. She is also survived by her godmothers, Mary Martin and Deb Gipp; close cousins, Traci Berry and Melissa Halstead; Grandmother, Dorothy Martin; close friend, Amy (Anderson) Neumann; and the father of her children Mike Wild; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Over the last months Jennifer lived with her parents, with Chris, Amy, and Ellamae as her main caregivers. A special thank you to family friend, Annie Leonard, for her loving attention to Jen's physical needs and dropping everything to come help and always got a smile out of Jen. Promedica Hospice personnel for their compassionate, respectful care, hospice chaplain Josh. When we think of Jen, "steadfast" comes to mind. Whether it's her unshakable faith (1 Corinthians 15:58), dedication to her job, unconditional love for family, or perseverance in friendships, she never gave up.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday June 28, 2023, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a private family service to be held later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials.
We can no longer see you with our eyes or touch you with our hands- but we will feel you in our hearts forever.
