IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jerry A.
Grosskopf
January 6, 1962 – April 29, 2022
Jerry A. Grosskopf, age 60, of Bowler, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Madison. Jerry was born in Shawano, WI on January 6, 1962, son of the late Harvey and Rita (Greskoviak) Grosskopf. He graduated from Bowler High School and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin Madison where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science from the School of Agriculture. During his undergraduate years, he had many fond memories of the brotherhood shared at Babcock House. Shortly after graduation, he returned to the family farm in Bowler, WI. Jerry loved his work as a dairy farmer and was truly a man of the outdoors. But more than anything, he loved his family. On April 10, 2006, Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joann Kekula, at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas. The depth of love these two shared was cherished by all who witnessed it. Their uncanny ability to communicate without words was truly remarkable. One could argue that the second love of his life was London, his princess and golden retriever. She could do no wrong in Jerry's eyes. He also adored his only child and son, Everett. Watching Everett play hockey was one of Jerry's favorite activities. The substantial bond between these two was undeniable. They could not only get lost in hours of conversation, but also lost while staring together at a map. Jerry's selflessness extended beyond his family to his community as well. He served on the Bowler school board for over 20 years. And also pulled a number of people out of the ditch who were going to and from the casino. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, cheering for UW-Madison Badgers sports, and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. His ingenuity, patience, compassion and witty sense of humor will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Most of all, we will miss Jerry's infectious positivity, which inspired so many to be better versions of themselves.
Jerry is survived by: his wife, Joann; his son Everett (Julie) Grosskopf of Greenville; his two beloved dogs, Buddy and London (his princess); and his siblings, Gail (Jay) Jaeger, Cathy (Pat) Spice, Jeanne Wudtke, Jay (Annette) Grosskopf, and Curtis (Mary) Grosskopf. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Donald Wudtke.
A funeral mass for Jerry will be held at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham at 11:00am on Saturday, May 7, 2022, with Fr. Charles Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Almon. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of mass.
It was Jerry's wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations for a scholarship fund to support Bowler High School students interested in music and/or agriculture.
