May 15, 1940 – January 29, 2024
Jerry L. Marohl, age 83, of Bonduel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday January 29, 2024. Jerry was born on May 15, 1940, in the Town of Washington to the late Walter and Evangeline (Lambrecht) Marohl. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1958. Jerry signed with the Dodgers in 1958, and played minor league baseball. On June 9, 1962, Jerry was united in marriage to Lynne Luepke at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. They eventually resided in Freedom and raised two wonderful children. He worked at Miller Electric for over 25 years wiring welders. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed trips to Montana and Wyoming hunting antelope and elk as well as fishing in Canada. Jerry also enjoyed woodworking and made beautiful pieces of furniture. According to all of his nieces and nephews, Uncle Jerry made the best old fashioneds this side of the Mississippi! Jerry and Lynne enjoyed taking road trips all over the country visiting nearly all of the states. Jerry and Lynne are members at Faith Lutheran Church in Appleton.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lynne; children, Christopher (Kristine) Marohl and Corinne (Tom) Salerno; grandchildren, Hallie (Austin) Hill, Brenna Marohl, Kamryn Marohl, Dane Marohl, Emily (Teddy) Bierhals, Christopher Salerno, Cooper Salerno and Elizabeth Salerno; and two great-grandchildren, Mia and Oaklynne Bierhals and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jean Moldenhauer and Virgil Marohl.
A funeral service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 am on Monday February 5, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Pastor Aaron Rosenau officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm then again on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at the church cemetery following the service.
