Joan Shirley Korth, age 79 of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, October 09, 2013 at Oak Haven. Born on February 4, 1934 in Gresham, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Mathilda (Hoffman) Lechterman. On November 16, 1957 she was united in marriage to Roger M. Korth in the Town of Richmond. The couple owned and operated Korth's General Store. Joan also worked as a cook at Heartland Health Care Center in Shawano. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano and enjoyed traveling and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Joan is survived by: 5 children, Michael (Rene) Korth, Suzanne (Jeff) Breitrick, Jeff (Sue) Korth, Kathleen White and Carol (Scott) Paiser all of Shawano; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by: her husband, Roger on August 7, 2011; 2 sons, Martin A. Marty" Korth, Tony Korth; 2 grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua; her parents; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Ted Andrada officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
