November 9, 1944 – March 4, 2025
Joanne Kay Krueger, of Cecil, age 80, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 4, 2025, at her home. Joanne was born on November 9, 1944, to the late Hubert and Lorraine (Baumgarten) Ehlert in Shawano. She lived her childhood in Embarrass and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1963. On June 6, 1964, Joanne was united in marriage to Robert A. "Bob" Krueger at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass. Together they had two sons, who she loved dearly. The couple spent a wonderful 38 years together before Bob's passing in 2002. In Joanne's free time, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, bowling in her younger years, cookouts and spending time with her family. Joanne's granddaughters and great-grandchildren were her world, pride and joy. The stories she told and the memories they made will leave an imprint on their hearts forever. Joanne was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt; she will be deeply missed.
Joanne is survived by her sons, Dean (Debby) Krueger and Brad (Missy) Krueger; granddaughters, Layla (Jeromy) Janssen and Merissa Krueger; great-grandchildren, Lily, Jordann, Dakota, Trenton and Robert; sister, Sandy Bohn; niece, Maggie Bohn; great-nephew, Grayson Bohn. She is further survived by numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; special friend, Edwin "Ed" Greenwald; brother, Terry Ehlert; parents, Hubert and Lorraine Ehlert; parents-in-law, Almond and Agnes Krueger; stepfather-in-law, Walter Dallmann; special friend and cousin, Mary (Gabe) Lepak.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 15, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Ryan Fehrmann officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be held on April 21, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Shawano County Sheriff Department and Shawano County Coroner, Brian, for their quick response.
