Joanne Patricia Wegner, age 73 of Cecil, died on Friday, May 3, 2019. She was born on November 23, 1945 in Green Bay, the daughter of the late Raymond and Susan (Vanden Hoogen) Hutjens. Joanne was a 1963 graduate of DePere High School. She was united in marriage to William 'Bill' Wegner in Appleton, on January 27, 1988. The couple are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Washington. Joanne retired from Radco in Shawano, where she worked for several years. Joanne was a hard-worker, who loved being outdoors, taking walks, and gardening. She enjoyed going out to eat and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by: her husband, Bill; her children, Sean (Patty) Clancy of Appleton, Mickey (Connie) Clancy of Wrightstown, Karen (Jill) Clancy of Little Chute; four step-children, Debbie Wegner of Neenah, Lisa (Jeff) Berger of Greenville, Kenneth (Cheri Stringstube-Eggert) Wegner of Neenah and Susan (Alden) Rideout of Appleton; grandchildren, Kristopher, Matthew, Haley, Hannah, Jordan and Cameron Clancy, Jonathon and Christopher Kilsdonk, Adam and Alison Gerdts. She is further survived by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Clancy; siblings, Jean Geurts, Ken (Mary) Hutjens, Roger (Diane) Hutjens, Betty (Dave) Thaldorf, Gordy (Debbie) Hutjens, and Stanley (Marcia) Hutjens; two brothers-in-law, Dick Cavil, and Bruce Melton.
Joanne is preceded in death by: a son, Gerry Clancy; her parents, Raymond and Susan; and three siblings, Dottie Melton, Paul Hutjens and Rosemary Cavil.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Washington with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
