Obituary

Jody Jay Seifert, age 52, and Johnna Renee Seifert (Lipe), age 56, residents of Wesley Chapel, Florida, tragically passed away on January 19, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jody and Johnna first met in 1996 at Falcon's Fire Golf Club when Johnna was a photographer at the golf club and Jody was the general manager, and their love sprouted from there. They were married on December 31, 1999 at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano, Wisconsin surrounded by many family and friends to help "ring" in the new millennium.

Jody Jay Seifert, son of James and Carla Seifert, was born on August 1, 1969 in Shawano, Wisconsin. He graduated from Shawano High School and went on to the University of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin-Stout. He later returned home to Shawano to begin his career in hospitality and in 1995 moved to Florida to pursue his passion in the golf industry. Sports was always an integral part of Jody's life-most notably baseball, starting in little league, through high school and then college. This past summer, he was inducted into the Shawano Lobos Baseball Hall of Fame and was part of the 1992 and 1993 Dairyland Grand Championship teams. He was an avid fan of all sports - often you would find him sitting in his "Captain's Chair" cheering on his favorite teams. Jody was preceded in death by his grandparents: Carl and Mavis Dey, Warren and Ruth Seifert, Oliver Olson; godmother, Carol Smith; and godfather, Jerry Seifert.

Johnna Renee (Lipe)Seifert, daughter of Robert Lipe and Catherine Mercer, was born on September 1, 1965 in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from Effingham County High School and grew up playing many sports, including baseball, softball, and cheerleading. Johnna looked to traveling after finishing school and eventually found herself in Orlando, Florida. Her passion for photography grew from a temporary job at a golf course and she was immediately hooked. When you saw Johnna, she almost always had a camera on her shoulder ready to photograph the next memory. Johnna touched many hearts with her photographs of tournaments, charity events, weddings, and gatherings. She was a strong-willed woman, a walking inspiration, had an extremely creative mind, and a second mother to those who sought it. Johnna was preceded in death by her parents: Robert Lipe and Catherine Mercer.

To those who knew them, Jody and Johnna were two of the most loving and caring people who would do anything for anyone at any time. Family and love were always at the root of their values and would pass these values on to their children and grandchild. They were a destined perfect couple and their wonderful life together will forever be cherished and remembered by their loving children: Shayne, Sydney, and Samantha; their grandson, Hudson; family dog, Cooper; Jody's parents, James and Carla; Jody's sister, Jamie (Bob) Meyer, goddaughter, Delaney and nephew, Elliott; Johnna's sisters, Angie (Skip) Sullenger and Teresa (Alan) Meixner, Deborah Smoak and brother, Herbert (Sheila); Johnna's nieces, Jennifer and Kristen; Johnna's nephews Christopher, TJ, and Robert; and many extended family and friends.
