Obituary

John L. Bartelt John Lloyd Bartelt, age 85 of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Longview Terrace in Suamico. Born on June 20, 1926 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late August and Ella (Kroening) Bartelt. On July 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Shirley F. Lehman in Chicago. She preceded him in death on June 15, 1981. John worked at J.I. Case in Racine for more than 30 years before retiring and moving to the Angelica area. On December 11, 1982 he was united in marriage to Lorraine B. (nee Lamb) Kroll. John was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow where he was an elder of the church. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers #180 in Racine. John loved spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life and without fail could always bring a smile to his face. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. John is survived by: his wife, Lorraine; 3 daughters, Karen (Richard) Beilfuss of Cecil, Paula (Ron) Lhotte of Pulaski, Ann (Dave) Innis of Madison; 2 stepsons, Dean (Judith) Kroll of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Ronald (Valerie) Kroll, Jr. of Zephurhills, FL, Timothy (Adelle) Kroll of Roxboro, NC; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren; and 14 step great-grandchildren. He is further survived by: 1 sister, Caroline Zielinski of Krakow; 4 sisters-in-law, Geri Lehman of Deltona, FL, Loretta (Lonnie) Lodholz of Antigo, Joanne Lamb of Racine, Diane Sillars of Berkley, WA; and 2 brothers-in-law, Ron Lamb and Bill (Lois) Lamb all of FL. John was preceded in death by: his first wife, Shirley; his parents; a sister, Margaret Bonnin; and 2 brothers, Norbert and Martin Bartelt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Zachow with the Deacon Michael Zamzow officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Wednesday from 4-8pm and at the church on Thursday after 9:30am until the time of the service.
