Obituary

John James Fischer, Sr., age 57, of Shawano, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Shawano on October 6, 1959, the son of the late Jerome and Agnes (Busch) Fischer. John enjoyed cooking and vegetable gardening, canning many of the things he harvested. He loved being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

John is survived by: three children, Ben Fischer, John Fischer, Jr. and Jessica Close; two grandsons, Ashton and Xavier; his fiancée, Carmalita VandenBusch and her children, Chassidy and Bailey; his sisters and brother, Debbie (Richard) Skalitzky, Shirley (Jim Lardinois) Pecore and Tom (Sharon) Fischer; his step-sister, Kathy Fischer; his sister-in-law, Roxanne Fischer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Fischer; his mother, Agnes Schwerke; his step-father, Percy Schwerke; one brother, Tod Fischer; and one brother-in-law, Gerald Pecore.

Memorial services for John will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 pm until the time of the service.
