John Boivin
Jr.
November 1, 1960 – July 28, 2022
John "Lunchie" A. Boivin Jr., age 61 of Neopit, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born on November 1, 1960, to the late John and Dorla (Wayka) Boivin Sr. in Keshena. He was a member of the graduating class of 1978 of Gresham Highschool. John served in the United States Marine Corps. On July 17, 1993, John was united in marriage to Deanna James. He lived most of his life in Neopit and worked as a security guard for the Menominee lumber mill as well as the Menominee Indian Casino. John was extremely active and loved sports. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and played softball for the Neopit Bombers. John liked to relax by watching the Brewers, the Bucks, and the Packers. Additionally, he loved to watch old westerns on TV. John's favorite pastimes were playing dice, dancing, playing cards, and telling stories to his family about his frequent visits to the lake lot.
John is survived by: his wife Deanna; his "Lunchables" children Darcy James, of Keshena, Dean Davis, of Middle Village, Derek James, of New Mexico, Wendall Boivin, of Middle Village, Daro James, of Neopit, Dyan James, of Neopit, and Desiree (Shayne) James, of Milwaukee; his grandchildren Darius D., Andre J., Ramon P, Baby Richard, Beverly P., Talia P., Shaneece J., Naveah J., Hunter T., Devin S., Marcus S., Kiona J., Cherena J., Daro J. Jr., Chloeyann A., Everette W., DRJ J., Miracle W., Ciqala J., and Ian Z. Jr.; his three great grandchildren; his god children Sonja Nahwahquaw and Kandace Boivin; his siblings Anna Boivin of Green Bay, William "Bill" Boivin, Raphael Boivin, Dale (Nancy) Boivin of Bowler, and Curtis Boivin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.; his several aunts and uncles including special aunt Deneane; his best friend "Schoochie" Madosh. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents John Sr. and Dorla; his son John III, his siblings Tony "Bucky", Kevin, and Kandice; his grandparents Ernest and Louise Wayka, Joe and Anna Boivin.
A funeral service for John will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Deacon Jim Lonick officiating. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center starting at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 31, 2022 until the time of service on Tuesday.
