John J. Kadletz, age 80, of Shawano, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 19, 2020. John was born on November 27, 1939, in Shawano, to the late Alfred and Josephine (Wilson) Kadletz. He attended Shawano High School and graduated with the class of 1959. John went on to further his education by attending Northwestern Technical College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On July 24, 1965, John was united in marriage to Betty Kriescher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He owned and operated Shawano Convalescent Center for several years. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He led a very active life and was very involved in his community by being involved in St. Vincent De Paul, Knights of Columbus, and Right to Life. He enjoyed going to the annual church picnic, cooking soup, and restoring his 1922 Buick "Old Matilda". John and Betty were best friends, soulmates and forever sweethearts. He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew and loved him.
John is survived by: his wife of 54 years, Betty; his children, John D. (Jenean) Kadletz of DePere, Joan M. (Tim) Klitzke of Shawano, and Christopher (Stephanie) Kadletz of Alabama; his grandchildren, Kaitlin (Brandon) Bloomer, Emily Klitzke, Megan Klitzke, Morgan Klitzke, Collin Kadletz, Ella Kadletz, Kaida Kadletz, Alexa Kadletz, and Samantha Kadletz; and his great-grandson, Beau Bloomer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary and Alice.
Graveside services for John will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with Fr. Scott Valentyn officiating. Military rites will be held at the cemetery.
