John Eric Lindfors, age 91, of Keshena, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Shawano.
John was born in Chicago on July 14, 1925, the son of the late Kjell and Helma (Holmquist) Lindfors.
John served our country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.
On June 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Nelson in Chicago.
John owned and operated Tenric Electric until his retirement.
In his early years, John had a strong affiliation with Evangelical Covenant Church in Milwaukee, but most recently, was extremely involved with Church on the Hill, where he was on the building committee for the new church.
John was a founding member of the Wolf River Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, a member of the Menominee American Legion, a Packer and Brewer fan, an avid golfer, often golfing at Pine Hills, and enjoyed night fishing.
John is survived by: his wife, Lorraine;
three children, Thomas (Valerie Hogan) Lindfors, Linda (partner, Michele Sbano) Beam, and James Lindfors; four grandchildren, Andrew Beam, Christopher Beam, Jennifer Lindfors, and Katie Lindfors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, David and Paul.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Swedberg Funeral Home with Rev. Loretta Waegli officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Military Honors will be conducted by the Menominee American Legion.
