John Carroll Lund, age 72, passed away on October 11, 2022 in Green Bay. He was born on April 11, 1950 to the late Clifford and Jacalyn (Ellefsen) Lund in Wausau. John worked at Aspiro on Dousman Street in Green Bay for many years. After retiring, he attended day programming at Curative Connections. He was a member of the Willow Way Club and Able Church in Green Bay. He loved to go on trips with Able Trek Tours and did so frequently. John grew up learning about trees from his father who was a tree surgeon. He would share his knowledge with caregivers by explaining all of the different kinds of trees. Nature was especially important to John; especially flowers and trees which is why he became a member of the Green Bay Botanical Gardens. He loved all of the different colors in nature and had a special way of noticing them that always touched his caregivers' hearts. John loved music and like to dance when he had the opportunity to. He also loved space and avidly read books about planets. Holidays were a fun time for John who loved to put out decorations for each one, especially Christmas. John had a sweet tooth and would become really excited when he knew he was going to get his favorite – chocolate sundaes. Those who knew John will remember him as a very soft spoken, gentle, kind man who was always happy and positive. He was loved and cared for deeply by all of his caregivers and friends at Oaks Family Care.

He is survived by his sister, Carol (Tom) Geborek, his nephew, Tom Geborek, Jr. and his cousin, Gail Paulson.

John is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Pastor Tim Mandich officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial will be at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery.
