John Nischke, age 85, of Bonduel, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Shawano. John was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 31, 1940, son of the late Herbert and Alice (Wilson) Nischke. John graduated from Bonduel High School with the class of 1959. On January 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Dixie Lee Grace Finger at Grace Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush, Wisconsin. John owned and operated a dairy farm in Angelica until ownership of the farm transferred to his son and daughter-in-law in 1992. John then went on to drive semi for Bay Industries and then Graf Creamery until retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the occasional manhattan, and in his younger years snowmobiling and bowling, and bowling and 700 series at the state tournament. John was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be remembered for his sense of humor, his contagious laugh, and his memorable stories.
John is survived by: his wife of nearly 64 years, Dixie; his children, Wayne (Connie) Nischke and Julie Nischke; grandchildren, Ashley (Ricky) Mikle, Kayla (David) Coehoorn, Mac (Amanda) Malchow, Karl (significant other Leah) Malchow, Daniel (David) Malchow-Davis, and Nicole (significant other Patrick) Malchow; eight great grandchildren with another on the way; a brother, Bill Nischke; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria Passehl and Dale and Mary Finger. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; two sisters, Lorraine (Gary) Wolf and Carol (Dan) Wilke; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Viola Finger; brother-in-law, Don Passehl; and sister-in-law, Linda Finger.
A funeral service for John will be held at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bonduel at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with Rev. David Ticks officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
