John F. Simonson, age 68, of Cecil, passed away on August 21, 2019. John was born in Rochester, New York on October 17, 1950, son of the late Daniel and Regena (Clemons) Simonson.  John worked for Greentree Health Care Center in Clintonville as a nursing home administrator from 1972 until 1995.  For many of those years he also worked as a volunteer fire fighter and was on the Clintonville ambulance service.  He went on to work as a registered nurse at Shawano Medical Center where he was given the Dr. Jefferies Award for exceptional patient care.  In his free time he enjoyed visiting with friends and playing the guitar.

John is survived by a son, Chad Simonson, a brother, Sean Simonson as well as many friends.

A celebration of John's life will be held from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on November 9, 2019 at Classic's Restaurant and Lounge.
