Obituary

John Allen Staats, age 65, of Bonduel passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in DePere after a 14 year battle with cancer. John was born on November 30, 1952 in Eau Claire, WI. On September 19, 1986, John was united in marriage to Rebecca Arnold in Las Vegas. John was a courageous warrior, an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his Triumph motorcycle. He enjoyed great food along with a good scotch or bourbon. John was a wonderful, loving and supportive husband, father and grandfather and will be extremely missed.

John is survived by: his wife, Becky; his son, Max Staats of Bonduel; his daughter, Kaci (Allan) Wolf of Bonduel; his grandson, Graham; sister Bambi (Steve) Van Den Heuvel of DePere; and nephews, Cameron (Katie) Van Den Heuvel and Kyle Van Den Heuvel. He is further survived by other family and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Staats.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post #217 at 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, an outdoor plant or donation to the John Staats Memorial Fund at Bonduel State Bank are preferred.
