John "Jack" Weldon, Sr., age 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born in Wisconsin Rapids on August 28, 1925 to the late Otis Weldon and Nellie (Farrell) Weldon. John served in the Navy in World War II as a Hospital Apprentice 1 ^st Class and Dental Tech for 3 years. On November 30, 1946 he was joined in marriage to Jean LaVonne Gustin in Plainfield, WI. They were married 66 years and had four children, Jacklynn, John Jr., Sally Jo, and Gary. John had a business in Green Bay for 12 years as a Certified Prosthetist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cards, and puzzles. The couple retired in Shawano in 1988. John was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano and served on the Church Council, counted money, and was a greeter and usher. He was a member of the American Legion, DAV, and past President of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.

John is survived by: his significant other, Gibby McKinney; two sons, John (Sylvia) Weldon, Jr. of Manitowoc and Gary Weldon of Mosinee; seven grandchildren, Kim Hoffman, Kirk Hoffman, Thad Weldon, Rachel Weldon, Annie Weldon, Serena Staazr, and Luke Weldon; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Rumple; and his brother, Jerry Lee Weldon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, and his daughters, Sally Jo and Jacklynn.

A memorial service for John will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. Military honors will be conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Inurnment will be in East Oasis Cemetery in Waushera County. Visitation will be held at the Church on Sunday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
