Obituary

John Michael Zahringer, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Appleton. John was born on August 2, 1952, in Shawano to the late Francis and Mavis (Heaton) Zahringer. He spent time overseas and served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. On December 5, 1981, John was united in marriage to Lynnae Elsner in Bonduel. He worked on the pipelines and was a recovery diver. John was a carpenter, made caskets and worked at Retail Lumber. He worked as a supervisor in the cabinetry department at the Menominee Tribal Enterprise. John recently was the owner of RKG Gun Shop; he loved his coffee breaks and hangout times when he could talk with customers. In his younger years, John was a Golden Gloves boxer in Keshena. John enjoyed cooking and everyone enjoyed his special meals. He loved all animals. John was very intelligent, sociable and could talk to everyone. He was a member of Gresham American Legion Post 390 and was a commander for many years.

John is survived by his wife, Lynnae; daughter, Heather Zahringer; brother-in-law Ben (Kelsey) Elsner; siblings, Susan Olszewski, Ann Zahringer, Nancy Zornes, James Zahringer, Jean Beauprey, Mary Zahringer and Tina Zahringer nieces and nephews, Megan (Sam Slezewski) Beauprey, Sarah (Paul) Bostwick, Jaci Zahringer, Amy (Brad Reynolds) Gonzalez, and Brian (Amber) Zahringer. He is further survived by many friends and loved ones.

John is preceded in death by his nephew, Matthew Zahringer; brothers-in-law, Philip Olszewski, Jerry Zornes and Richard Beauprey; sister-in-law, Pam Zahringer; Heather's mother, Pam Jensen; and parents, Francis and Mavis Zahringer.

John's request was to celebrate his life through his loved ones. There will be no services.
